About LDG Dance Academy and our teachers…

LDG Dance Academy opened in January 2018 in the heart of the village of Scraptoft, Leicester. We offer classes for children aged 2-16, as well as a range of Adult’s classes. LDG Dance Academy is committed to making classes modern, exciting and beneficial for all the students. Since opening the school we have 100 students, of all ages, through our doors every week. We are very pleased to offer classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Street and Acrobatics. We also offer competition classes for students who would like to push themselves and have extra performance opportunities.

Principal – Laura Del Grosso

Miss Laura began training slightly older than most, aged 13. She quickly fell in love with dancing and within a year had began teaching classes. By the age of 15 Laura was working as a professional teacher and has done ever since. Laura’s teaching and choreography has taken her all over the country and she has worked with 100’s of dance students. As a performer, Laura has toured the UK performing with companies, as well as various television appearances. Laura recently worked at Disneyland Paris but has come back to pursue her teaching career at ‘LDG Dance Academy’ and spread the knowledge and skills she has to the next generations of performers.

Assistant Principal/Teacher – Alicia Earley

Miss Alicia spent 11 years training in all things classical and technical! She has attended DuPont school and is now looking to further her dancing with her teaching career. Miss Alicia has completed exams in classical styles achieving intermediate awards in ballet (RAD) and modern (ISTD) and advanced award in Tap (ISTD). Assistant Teacher – Miss Lucy

I first started dancing at age 4 with a small community dance Group. I did carnival/soca and street dance with them for 8 years. When I was 12 I began ballet, jazz, tap and commercial which is when Laura first taught me jazz. Since the age of 14 I’ve worked as a dance coach and recently started dance college to complete a BTEC Level 3 course.I’m currently training to become versatile dancer and teacher and look forward to building my career with LDG Dance Academy.

Coordinator – Miss Ruth

Ruth (Miss Laura’s mum!) will be around LDG Dance Academy as a helping hand and friendly face! If Miss Laura is not available, Ruth will be able to assist you. Ruth has been a membership manager for many years and will make sure that all the administration and behind the scenes work we do is up to scratch.
