LDG Dance Academy opened in January 2018 in the heart of the village of Scraptoft, in Leicester. We offer classes for children aged 2-16, as well as a range of Adult’s classes. LDG Dance Academy is committed to making classes modern, exciting and beneficial for all the students. Since opening the school we have over 100 students, of all ages, through our doors every week. We are very pleased to offer classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Street and Acrobatics. We also offer competition classes for students who would like to push themselves and have extra performance opportunities.
Principal – Miss Laura
Miss Laura runs LDG Dance Academy, with the help and support of a trusted team of incredible teachers and assistant student teachers. Laura has been working as a professional teacher since age 15 and her teaching and choreography has taken her all over the country (and continent!), working with hundreds, if not thousands of dancers. As a performer, Miss Laura has toured the UK performing with companies, as well as various television appearances on Britain’s Got Talent Finals and the X Factor. Miss Laura have also worked as a dancer on the parades at Disneyland Paris and has extensive teaching experience with many different dance schools. Miss Laura still loves doing the odd performance, but her heart is now with the students and training the next generation of dancers.
Teacher – Miss Fern
Teacher – Miss Jenn
Beginning her dance journey in contemporary, Jenn quickly moved into commercial training for competition, winning many national trophies. An original student from Addict Dance Academy alongside Miss Laura, Jenn graduated with many experiences performing on stages including the lead at Move It and finalists of Britain’s Got Talent with the Addict Initiative and I have been part of the full time faculty teacher at the college since 2017. Miss Jenn’s thirst to train has seen her travelling all over the world to learn from the best and network including Los Angeles, London, Italy, London and Holland. She is always connecting and being inspired to create her own mark in the dance world and dance industry, as well as being versatile. Miss Jenn has done various small jobs to date including music videos, flash mobs, charity events and recently extended into tv and film by being an extra in a soon to be released production. Jenn has found a love for creating and teaching/sharing; creating pieces for stage and weekly classes. She hope’s to keep developing her artistry and has plans to share her visual work in concept videos and travel with dance work and teaching all over the world.
Administrator – Miss Anja
Miss Anja joined the team in 2020 as our administrator. Miss Anja has taken the burden of managing all the business side of the dance school and working on the front desk, and Anja is a friendly and familiar face to all students and parents. Miss Anja is able to assist with all questions, sorting uniform orders and arranging invoices and payments. We would be lost without Miss Anjas help!
Student Assistants – Miss Katie and Miss Eve
Miss Katie and Miss Eve have been training at LDG Dance Academy since the very first day we opened the doors. Both have shown exceptional talent, commitment and are growing into outstanding teachers, as well as dancers. Miss Katie has recently finished college and has moved on to train in further education at an established professional dance college. Miss Eve is hoping to continue to progress her dance career once she finished her GCSEs. We are very lucky to have our student assistants, who have been familiar faces for the students for many years.
